Awards Day photos 2015
In a passionate speech broadcaster and angler Derek Davis appealed to anglers to pass on their angling skills to young people to show them how to develop as anglers. Speaking at the ISFC Awards Day on Saturday last in Dublin he highlighted the quality of angling in Irish waters and that the younger generation just needed the encouragement and support of adult mentors to be able to enjoy angling and go on to catch the ‘big ones’. Several young anglers who had caught specimens in 2014 were awarded with certificates and specimen badges at the Awards Day. Top juvenile and winner of the Dr. Arthur Went Young Angler award was Conor Ward from Baltinglass for a Roach/Bream of 5.75 lbs (2.61 kg) in Lough NaBlahy in October 2014. Anglers from all parts of Ireland attended and over 250 specimen certificates were presented.
